Josh didn’t take the traditional path to obtain a career in construction management. He began his career by jumping in the construction industry immediately after high school as a foreman of a framing crew. His dedication and leadership in the field later helped him advance to roles such as Project Superintendent and Senior Project Manager.
Josh worked for our sister company, Shiel Sexton, for 12 years before joining Anova in 2013. He was excited for a new set of challenges, and the opportunity did not disappoint. Through his role at Anova, Josh has had the opportunity to travel internationally to work on projects where he has experienced completely different cultures, languages, units of measurement, and varying levels of initial safety compliance.
As an Account Manager with Anova, Josh provides on-site leadership for all technical and construction operations. He serves as the liaison between the client and all contractors by directing the planning, coordination, and execution of project schedules and budgets.
He has more than 26 years of commercial construction and safety management experience, which also includes six years of international construction and safety management. He has managed projects valued from $2 million to $180 million. He also has more than 25 safety-related training certifications and has managed more than 500,000 manhours of work with ZERO recordable incidents for our Dow AgroSciences account.
While Josh enjoys working on complex laboratories and healthcare projects, he gets excited about helping our U.S. clients successfully build facilities in other countries and cultures.
What’s it like to work with Josh? He is big on team building and problem-solving in real time. He is a natural leader at training others “to do what we do.” His motto is “all or none, and it is always ALL.” While Josh has completed small projects that receive little exposure or recognition and larger projects with greater exposure, his approach is always the same. Full Speed!
Outside the office, Josh can be found traveling the world with his family, playing the guitar, or enjoying outdoor sports such as mountain biking, watersports, and camping. Finally, he has a pet Yorkshire Terrier named, Kevin. He’s the real boss!
